What makes a website custom instead of a template?
A template site starts with a finished layout and swaps in your text and photos. A custom site starts with your business and is designed and coded for it. At GatorByte that means a React build designed for your pages, with no page builder or theme underneath.
How much does custom web design cost?
A custom 1-3 page site is $1,000 one-time to launch, then $100/month for managed hosting, security, monitoring, and small updates. Larger sites, extra pages, and add-ons like photography or a logo are quoted up front.
How long does a custom website take?
A 1-3 page launch site is typically live in 1-2 weeks once direction and content are confirmed. Larger sites take longer and are scoped up front.
Do I own the design?
Under our terms, once the project is paid in full you own your website content and copy, the custom design elements created for your project, and the images and media you provided. GatorByte keeps the rights to its underlying code frameworks, templates, and general design patterns.
Do you work outside the Northshore?
Yes. Our office is in Mandeville and most local clients are on the Northshore, but we build websites for businesses across Louisiana and the Gulf South, and we can do the whole project by phone and video call.
