Web apps that work in any browser, on a desk or in a truck.
A website tells people about your business. A web app lets them do something: request, track, log in, update, approve. GatorByte builds web apps on a modern, well-supported stack, React and Next.js in front and Node.js and PostgreSQL behind, and can deliver them as progressive web apps that install to a phone home screen.

How it works
Web app development, step by step.
01
Scope
Who uses it, what they need to do, and what data it holds.
02
Prototype
Key screens and flows are designed and clicked through before the full build.
03
Build
Front end, API, and database built together with weekly checkpoints.
04
Deploy and support
Launched with monitoring in place, then supported and improved after release.
Price
Web apps are scoped and quoted up front, as a fixed-scope budget or transparent time and materials. Hosting, monitoring, and support after launch are included in the quote.
Questions
Web app development: common questions.
What is the difference between a website and a web app?
A website mostly presents information. A web app lets people do things: log in, save data, submit and track requests, or manage records. Many businesses need both, like a public site with an admin app behind it.
Do I need a native app in the app stores?
Often not. A progressive web app runs in the browser, can be installed to a phone home screen, and avoids app store review for every update. If your use truly needs a native app, we talk it through during scoping.
Why React and PostgreSQL?
They are widely used, well supported, and easy to hire for later, so your app is not tied to an obscure tool or to us. PostgreSQL is a dependable database for business records and reporting.
Can you take over an existing web app?
We can review an existing codebase and tell you plainly whether it makes sense to extend it or rebuild it, then quote the work.
